Checkup
Yesterday I went for my now weekly checkup. We did an exam and guess what? At 37 weeks and 4 days I am thick and closed- translation: no baby anytime soon! My goal is to go full term with this baby, so mentally I am prepared for 2 1/2 more weeks, but I was hoping for some kind of progress. I would like to go into labor on my own this time and not be induced if possible. Oh, well. I also got an ultrasound. From the measurements, the baby is already 7 lbs. 7 oz. "You make big babies" my doctor said. Sweet. The good news is that the baby is still a boy and is head down, so I've got that going for me.

Play Dough?
I finally let T loose on some Play Dough a few days ago. If I had known how much she would love it, I would have done it a long time ago. We sit together at least three times a day and just roll, squish, cut and scoop. It is nice that T is able to sit and concentrate on a task for quite a while. For the last week as soon as T has woken up in the morning, she says "Curious *pause* George?" "Banoons?" Meaning: Let's watch Curious George. After her nap today it was "Play Dough?" I get worried sometimes that T will get stuck in a rut and only one thing will make her happy, so it is relieving to me when we find new ways to get her excited and entertained.
On a similar note, I am amazed at how much of my day consists of simply playing around. Granted, it is not always incredibly stimulating for me, but that is part of the challenge of being a mom I think. I have to stretch to find Play Dough fun for the third time in the day, but when I find myself just relaxing and not thinking how bored I am at that moment, it tends to work out.

Is it wrong.....
Is it wrong to covet a dress that is for little girls? There is no way I would shell out $50 for it for T but it is sooo cute! And with the red shoes? I might have to start sewing children's clothing! No, that's a bad, bad idea. Let's be honest, by the time I finished it, it would be too small. Maybe for me though....

Can we blog yet? Yes we can!
I've got to get blogging again! I really need some motivation though. What I don't know.
My days are really busy right now because all I can think about is the fact that the baby is four weeks away and I feel like there is so much to do before then.
One of the projects we have been working on T's room and baby boy's room. They are really coming together and starting to look awesome. K is so handy to have around too! The beadboard and trim make the rooms look amazing.
T is already in her new room and has been sleeping in her "big girl bed" for the last few nights. (I didn't want to have to get a second crib.) It's been a little challenging and I think we made it a little tougher on ourselves by moving rooms and beds at the same time. We used to just put her in bed and say goodnight and have her go to sleep. It takes a little more convincing now. As I was laying on the floor by her bed feeling frustrated I remembered that it took T a long time to get to the easy nighttime routine. I used to sing/bounce her for forever. The muscles my arms developed! I am so glad I can just be there now. Each night is a little better, and I think that she will be well established by the time the baby comes so we can move him to the crib.
S is moving in with us in a few weeks and we are getting so excited. How lucky am I? We have always been the best of friends. People would see us together as kids getting along so well and would ask us if we were faking it. It always seemed weird to me when siblings didn't like each other! I think that the house will feel even more like a home with S and the new baby. As much as I love solitude, the house is just a little empty right now. I can't wait.
The pregnancy finally feels like it is flying by. At my next Dr. appointment we are going to do an ultrasound to check the baby's position. Ultrasounds are one of the best things about being pregnant, so I am having K and T come so they can see too. It seems funny to be doing one this late, considering we are going to be seeing this kid in real life in a few weeks, but I definitely won't complain.
Well, it's pumpkin time for me. Will I blog again in the next month? It will be a surprise to you and me. :)
